Communicating With The Masters

Promoting one's self, as a writer or artist, is no easy task. When it comes to communicating with publishing companies or other established artists.

When you are first starting out, or like me, have established yourself;however, you lack the connections - let's just say "communication" is like "diving from a high board and diving into a kid's wading pool."

The protocols for communications, levels of personel that you must first connect with (before connecting to the entity in which you wish to connect with); there can be many hurdes to contend with.

Where to start? I simply have gotten my "calling card out there." My logo and "intro message."

Mass emails are ok (unless the addresses in which you send the emails consider you 'Spamming.'). This is where my Tradename, Official Address on The Web, and Studio address are all "Registered" as "Legit and Respectable Business Entities."

I had many steps to go through. From opening up a Sole Proprietory E.I.N Tax Account with the I.R.S, Publishing A Legal Ad In The Newspapers (on and offline) in which to claim and File a "New Business Name" under "Doing Business Under The Assumed Name Act," then Registering My Name and Ensignia (Trademark) under the "United States Trademark Paperwork Policies Act).

I went further than this in my seriousness on " showing these 'respectful Connections' (in which I wished to connect with), that I was iron clad serious in becoming 'a respectful level condedor.'"

Now, here comes the most difficult task. "Proving your existance with the art galleries and art reigstry."

I not only established my name in the "Madison Book of Who's Who," I had registered with my local "art registry," and had to become enlisted with local promotion agencies.

"Establishing a presence" that would become "eye catching and eluring to the consumers" is my last and most horrendous of tasks.

Your presence, (not just face and or Logo), is your message of business and and interesting "title label" (for the Genre of your writing s and or artistic creations).

My poetic skills are much different from ,what some publishers consider, "the industry norm or standard."

My poems are longer than those of the traditional passages and rime more than most other poets care too.

. I also aim or target my themes torwards "dark" poetry (gothic) or "Real World Issues." Non-Fiction "feeling" (Edgar Allen Poe-Like) writings.

Indie style poems and art illustrations that I bring forth , to the literary world.

What style do you write in? What steps have you taken to establish your presence to the world? What is the Genre of your poetry and or short stories? Drop us a line and we would love to hear your suggestions or questions on such.
